Flex my Duolingo skills
I am one of many people who has been learning a new language recently, and my language of choice is French – which is very handy for a trip to Canada, where many provinces speak French as a first language. I love the idea of being able to explore new cultures and practice my language skills while in North America, and embrace a multilingual environment to improve on my conversational French skills.
Breath-taking scenery that cannot be matched
There is something particularly special about natural life in Canada, because it offers up such a variety of visuals. From calm lakes to jagged rocks, with towering trees filling the skyline between, the Canadian environment is uniquely recognisable as offering some of the best views in the world. There is something incredibly humbling about having the opportunity to be sharing that space with nature, and having the chance to recharge your battery.
Go and see the Northern Lights
There is a very good reason that all of my favourite places in the world are in the more Northerly areas, and that’s because of the likelihood of seeing the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are a gorgeous display of light across the night sky, shining in all kinds of colours from simple whites to stunning greens and oranges. There are few sights that are better than witnessing the Northern Lights with a beautiful Canadian backdrop, which is why I am itching to book flights to Canada as soon as I can.
Everything feels so accessible
One of the most important things for me when I go on a holiday is that I am able to get from place to place with minimal stress, and without long and boring drives through the middle of nowhere. What I love about Canada is there are so many ways to get around – for example, you can get a train around the coast to move to a new area of the country, while taking in life-changing scenery in comfort and style.
