Top Christmas Recipes for Christmas dinner

‍ Christmas dinner isn’t just about turkey or ham, it’s also about the side dishes or desserts too! Luckily, Christmas is a great time to pull out your baking and dessert making tendencies, as you’ll be swamped with friends and family over the festive period. So whether you’re looking for a quick and easy Christmas recipe, or something slightly more complex for your whole family; we’ve got you covered. Here are our top 10 favorite Christmas recipes for your Christmas dinner table!

Christmas Pudding

Christmas puddings are pretty much a necessity at Christmas dinner. And if you’re going for a classic, festive recipe, we recommend the classic Christmas puddings. You have the classic Christmas puddings, like the Christmas Pudding with Raisins and Currants, or the Christmas Pudding with Raisins, Currants, and Walnuts. There’s also the Christmas Crumble, which is an all-time classic that you can’t go wrong with. Christmas puddings are generally made with breadcrumbs, eggs, and milk or a combination of milk and cream. You then add your chosen fruit and spice combination, such as cinnamon and ginger, or orange zest and almond. You then pour your fruit-based batter into ramekins, glasses, or a baking dish and bake until set. Once set, you can serve your Christmas puddings with custard, or with rum if you’re feeling festive.

Christmas Cheesecake

Cheesecakes are a classic dessert for Christmas dinner. You can go for the classic cheesecake recipe, or if you’re feeling bolder, try a more adventurous recipe such as the Spiced Cheesecake, or the Orange and Cinnamon Cheesecake. Whatever cheesecake you pick, you can’t go wrong with a classic Christmas cheesecake. Cheesecakes are generally made with cream cheese, milk, eggs, and sugar, and flavoured with citrus, or spices for a Christmas twist. You can make a cheesecake in a spring-form tin, or a loose-bottomed tin, or if you have a larger family, a 9-inch or 10-inch round spring-form or loose-bottomed tin will be easier to adapt to smaller portions.

Christmas Pâté

Pâtés are great to serve at Christmas dinner. You can go for a classic Christmas pâté recipe, or you can try something a little more adventurous, like the Spiced Turkey Pâté with Cranberry and Orange Chutney, or the Smoked Salmon Pâté with a Pickled Dill Mayonnaise and Carrot Salad. The best part about pâtés is that they don’t need to be made in advance, but can be assembled just before serving. Pâtés are a great option if you’re entertaining a large number of guests because they can be made in advance, and can be easily assembled just before serving.

Christmas Trifle

If you’re hosting a big family Christmas dinner, you might want to consider serving a classic Christmas trifle. A Christmas trifle is a delicious dessert made with a variety of fruit and cake layers, and a creamy, thick custard centre. You can go for a classic Christmas trifle recipe, or you can try something a little more adventurous, like the Orange and Cinnamon Trifle with Orange Liqueur Cream or the Gingerbread Mince Pie with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream. Christmas trifle recipes generally call for a mix of soft, fresh fruit, such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, and hard, dried fruit, such as dates, figs, and dried apricots. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest are also often included. Many Christmas trifle recipes also include almond extract, which is a great addition for its sweet, aromatic flavour.

Christmas Cake

If you’re hosting a large Christmas dinner, it’s probably a good idea to choose one of the more elaborate desserts, like a Christmas cake. A Christmas cake is traditionally made with spices, almonds, and citrus zest, and is often served at Christmas dinner. Some of the most popular Christmas cakes are the Christmas cake with citrus curd and almonds, or the Christmas cake with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream. You can make a traditional Christmas cake with spices, like the Christmas Cake with an Orange Curd and Almond Filling, or the Christmas Cake with Cinnamon and Clove Spices. Or, you can go for a Christmas cake with a Mexican twist, such as the Mince Pie Christmas Cake with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream.

Eggnog Tartlet

Eggnog is another classic Christmas ingredient that you can’t go wrong serving at Christmas dinner. You can go for a classic eggnog tart, or try something a little more adventurous, like the Spiced Truffle Cream and Almond Tart with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream. Many Christmas cakes also include a trifle or mock-truffle cream, like the Mince Pie Christmas Cake with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream, or the Gingerbread Mince Pie with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream. Eggnog is a combination of eggs, rum, citrus zest, nutmeg, cinnamon, and other spices. You can make a basic eggnog, or use a combination of different spirits such as rum and brandy, or spiced wine. You can also add fresh fruit to your eggnog recipe, like in the Mince Pie Christmas Cake with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream recipe, which includes a combination of fresh orange juice, fresh orange zest, and rum.

Fruit Chilled Soup with Macadamia Cream Topping and Crunchy Bread Crumbs

A chilled soup is a great veg option for your Christmas dinner table. You can go for a classic chilled soup, such as the Mixed Vegetable and Lentil Soup or the Spiced Carrot and Ginger Soup, or you can try something a little more adventurous, like the Gingerbread Mince Pie with a Rum Custard and Ice Cream. A chilled soup is generally made with vegetables and flavours such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, and is often served piping hot. You can make your chilled soups in advance and store them in a fridge or freezer, and serve them chilled. Chilled soups can be served with crackers, croutons, or bread sticks, or you can pair them with a veg side dish, such as a roasted vegetable or a salad. A Christmas vegetable soup is a great option for a cold winter’s night. You can also garnish your chilled soups with toppings such as sweetened macadamia cream, or a mixture of nuts, cinnamon, and crushed macadamia nuts.

Gingerbread Mince Pie

Gingerbread is a classic Christmas dessert, and you’re going to need some sort of dessert for your Christmas dinner table. Fortunately, you have plenty of great options for Christmas desserts, including the Christmas Pudding and Christmas Cheesecake. For something a little more unique and festive, you can’t go wrong with a mince pie. If you’re hosting a big family dinner, you might want to consider serving a Christmas cake, or a mince pie. Mince pies are traditionally made with minced pork, and are served at Christmas with a sweet, spiced filling. Mince pies can be made with fresh fruit, or with dried fruit for a more traditional, sweet pie flavour. For a more festive twist, you can also make mince pies with a spiced apple filling, or with a gingerbread filling. If you’re hosting a large family dinner, you might want to consider serving mince pies.
