4 Lifechanging Ways to Spend Your Summer

There is something almost magical and transformative about Summer. Maybe its the extra boost of Vitamin D, but the Summer months really motivate me and make me feel like I can get anything done that I put my mind to. Unfortunately for me, I then waste months sitting in front of an aircon and complaining that I’m too hot! But this year I want to do something that will make a difference to my life after the Summer has ended. Here are four lifechanging ways to spend your Summer.

Start a major project

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying there are all kinds of things I say I want to do, but that I never have time. Whether its learning to drive a car, writing a novel, building something or even decorating your home, we never think we have time until we make it. That’s why I think it’s a great idea to commit yourself over the Summer to working on your project, so that you will have either finished it or made great headway with it by the end of the Summer months.

Go on holiday alone

There is a big wide world out there, and while you’re struggling with the British Summer heat you might consider getting away to somewhere that is actually built to cope with the sunshine. A great way to get away for some self development and flexing your independence skills is to look for single traveller holidays abroad, as these give you a chance to be responsible for yourself and your own holiday but also in more of a structured way, so it takes away the decision making – which can be the hardest part of planning a holiday!

Create a new routine

They say it takes three weeks to make a habit, and the Summer is three months long, so this is plenty of time to implement a new routine and make it part of your daily life. Think about areas of your life where you are struggling – it might be forgetting to wash your face twice a day, or even wishing you had more time to sit down and enjoy a good book – and decide on a time every single day that you are going to make that a priority. Make sure it works with your existing commitments to make it a sustainable routine.

Take on a second job

There are many places across the UK that have seasonal work, especially in places which thrive on tourism. Taking on a bit of seasonal work that fits around your regular responsibilities is a great way to spend a Summer that might otherwise be wasted, and it means you can put a bit of extra money away either to get you through the Winter months, or to save up for something special in particular.   Is there anything you want to achieve this year that you can make happen this Summer?
