If your Dad is anything like mine, getting gifts for a dad can be difficult. But he loves having hobbies where he can work with his hands. I can always find my Dad in his workshop or the garage, tinkering with engines and fixing things so that they look brand new again. Now that we are slowly moving into Autumn, I like to start planning my Christmas gifts for my family so that I have plenty of time to get them something perfect. Here are five Christmas gift ideas for a Dad who loves working with his hands.

Your Dad probably has an extensive toolkit, built up over decades as he has tinkered and learned new skills. While those tools may have sentimental value, they may not be the best tools for the job any more, which is why getting your Dad a set of replacements is a very meaningful gift that shows you care about his interests.  Of course, no one wants to get their Dad a bunch of dull, unneeded tools. You want to get him a set that he can put to good use with, like a set of quality socket wrenches. A socket set may not be the most exciting gift, but it’s something your Dad can use and enjoy, and it’s something he likely won’t receive from anyone else.

Equipment for hunting

Hunting is a hobby that is practised all over the world, and it can be useful for building skills in hand-eye coordination, as well as helping you become self-sufficient if you eat the meat that you are hunting. You can help take your Dad’s hunting game up a notch if you learn more about what kinds of weapons he is using, and get him something that is sleeker and more powerful than what he is already using.
