Understanding Diabetes
Diabetes is a complex condition with various forms, but the two primary types are Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 diabetes is commonly diagnosed in childhood, whereas Type 2 often develops later in life due to insulin resistance. Additionally, there’s a significant stage known as pre-diabetes, characterised by elevated blood sugar levels, which puts individuals at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. It’s essential to recognise the early signs and take proactive steps to manage and prevent the progression of this condition. Over a year ago now I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, and through diet and exercise, I have successfully managed to reduce my HbA1C test results to be completely in the clear in under a year. It wasn’t easy, but with determination and support, I was able to achieve this significant improvement in my health and now my numbers are quite far under any pre-diabetes flag markers.Managing Diabetes
